Yellow Social Interactive Ltd. (YSI), the operator of Pulsz and Pulsz Bingo, has agreed to settle a class action alleging that its sale of virtual coins broke gambling laws in six states. The court granted preliminary approval on Aug. 31, according to ClassAction.org, which puts the settlement's value at roughly $14 million.

The class includes people who spent money on Pulsz or Pulsz Bingo in Alabama from March 8, 2022; in Tennessee from Nov. 12, 2022; in Kentucky from June 29, 2023; and in Ohio, New Jersey and Massachusetts from Feb. 19, 2024. Every class period ends Aug. 31, 2026. The case is pending in the Circuit Court of Franklin County, Alabama.

Payouts are based on net purchases, meaning money spent minus prizes redeemed. Members who take no action automatically receive Gold Coins equal to 27% of their net purchases, after fees and expenses, at 10,000 coins per dollar. Members who file a claim can choose cash equal to 23% of net purchases instead; if cash elections exceed 25% of the estimated total benefit, cash payments shrink pro rata and the balance is paid in Gold Coins.

YSI denies the claims and any violation of law but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continued litigation. The deadline to elect cash, opt out or object is Nov. 30, 2026, and the final approval hearing is scheduled for Dec. 31, 2026. No payments will go out until the court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved.

The settlement covers only purchases made in the six listed states during the class periods.
